About Emily
Emily received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in June of 2000, from Seton Hall University. After graduating, Emily worked at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in East Orange, New Jersey. She specialized in Traumatic Brain Injury, wheelchair seating and positioning, and outpatient upper extremity rehabilitation. Emily relocated to Asheville in 2002 and was the director of rehabilitation at Pisgah Manor for two years. In 2004, she began working for Care Partners Rehabilitation Hospital, specializing in Spinal Cord Injury, neurologic injuries and burn rehabilitation. Emily became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2006 from the Vodder School International and in 2010, she transitioned to outpatient services, where she was instrumental in the development of the outpatient occupational therapy program for Lymphedema management at Care Partners. Emily was instrumental in the development of various outpatient programs for Care Partners including an outpatient hand therapy clinic at Asheville Orthopedics Associates. Emily transitioned to predominantly lymphedema and oncology-based practice with a focus on the provision of various manual therapy techniques. Emily is a co-owner of Thrive Therapeutics Asheville and is passionate about helping cancer patients throughout the continuum of their care and the rehabilitation process.
